Wound Care

Three Rivers Health is the only healthcare center in the Basin to employ a Wound Care Specialist. Our Board Certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) is also a Nurse Practitioner who provides a higher level of care that programs that rely on a lesser educated registered nurse.

While wound care Nurse Practitioners care for ordinary, everyday wounds, they primarily focus on the more acute and chronic types of wounds. Those that do not easily heal such as pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, abdominal stomas, wounds complicated by continence disorders, and drains, among others.
