Dr. Kelly Christensen grew up the son of a physician in Powell, Wyoming. He decided he wanted to be a family practice doctor like his father when he was in the second grade and never wavered from that. He graduated from Powell high school, then went to the University of Wyoming and finally to medical school at the University of Utah. He chose to pursue a residency in Wichita, Kansas, based on their strong hands-on procedural training to be a family practice doctor in a small town. With the opening of the operating room at Three Rivers, he was offered the opportunity to do endoscopy at another facility, something he jumped at. He now provides both upper and lower endoscopy services for us at Three Rivers, and brings a team from Powell with him, including anesthesia, to perform those procedures. Patients no longer have to travel to get these highly recommended screening procedures done.
Aside from medicine, he enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, riding horses, hiking, reloading, and reading. Dr. Christensen is married with 2 children. His oldest, Brittany is now an internal medicine physician, and Jacob works in finance.
