Kayla attended Minnesota State University of Moorhead where she received Bachelor degrees in Biology in Chemistry and worked as an optician in her pursuit to work in healthcare. After graduation, she worked for the Minnesota Department of Health in Emerging Infectious Disease for two years. She wanted to practice in more direct patient care so she completed a wilderness EMT course in Missoula and then worked for two years in operating rooms as an assistant and on the ambulance as an EMT. After acceptance to the University of South Dakota Physician Assistant program, she received her master's degree as a PA. She has been working in neurosurgery since graduating and is looking forward to furthering her knowledge and skills with the Billings Clinic team. She enjoys spending time in the outdoors during her free time and is a chapter leader for Backcountry Hunters and Anglers.
